The Skete The
Annunciation of the Theotokos located within 1 hour walking distance from the
monastery of Xenophontos and it
belongs to the monastery. The skete
is Greek. It was founded in 1766 by
the monks Sylvester and the elders Eythraimios and Agapios. The katholikon of
the skete was built in 1766 and
painted by Constantine and Athanasios
of Epirus. The katholikon is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos.
The skete
possesses approximately 100 icons, among them the Theotokos Eleousa and the
Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
The relics kept within the skete
The relics of
Sts. Ambrosias, Marina, Charalampos, Modest, Cyprian, Cosma,
blood of St. Demetrios.
The skete also
possesses 6 kalyves with the chapels.
